ALEX MADER
Born in 1994 in Franconia, southern Germany, Alex Mader grew up in a family of photographers — an early immersion that shaped the precision and sensitivity at the core of his practice. Influenced by American documentary photography and the mood of cinema, he creates images where character and place intersect, capturing the tension and emotion that surface between people and their environments.
After studying Art History and Slavic Literature in Berlin and assisting photographers in the city, he began focusing fully on his own work, refining a visual language that is as much about atmosphere as it is about form. After spending significant time in New York, he has been primarily based in Paris since 2021.
